A dialogue session titled "Football... Politics Rules the Field," within the activities of the Future of Media and Communication Forum, discussed the relationship between football and politics, and the intersections between the two fields, in light of the role that sports play in the general scene and the wide public and media interest it enjoys.
The session was attended by sports media professional Lutfi Al-Za'abi, and Tariq Khouri, the former deputy in the Jordanian House of Representatives and the former president of Al-Wehdat Club, where the discussion brought together sports media experience and administrative and parliamentary experience.
The session addressed the relationship between political decisions and the football scene, the limits of the impact of politics on sports, and the role of the media in reading sports events and interpreting their dimensions, in light of the overlap of sports with general issues and its impact on public opinion.
The session comes within the discussions of the Future of Media and Communication Forum, which sheds light on the transformations taking place in the media sector, and the issues where media intersect with various political, social, and sports fields.
