Under the patronage of the Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson, Dr. Mohammad Momani, the opening session of the 4th Future of Media and Communication Forum 2026 kicked off today, Saturday, in the capital, Amman. The forum is organized by the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) under the theme "The Future of Media and Communication… A Changing World," with the participation of Arab and international media figures and representatives of international institutions and organizations.

The session was attended by the European Union Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Head of Delegation, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas; UNESCO Representative to Jordan and Head of Office, Noha Bawazir; President of the General Union of Arab Journalists, Moayad Al-Lami; General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, Anthony Bellanger; and the founder and board member of the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists, Nidal Mansour.

The session featured a presentation by "Ella Abdullah," a virtual presenter powered by artificial intelligence technologies, in an experience that reflects the presence of modern technology in the media landscape and its applications in content delivery and audience engagement.

The forum brings together journalists, media professionals, experts, academics, content creators, and representatives from media and technology institutions, international organizations, and civil society institutions to discuss the transformations reshaping the media and communication sector.

The forum discusses the future of media in light of the rapid development of artificial intelligence and digital transformations, changing audience behavior and news consumption patterns, the rise of social media platforms and content creators, as well as challenges related to media disinformation, fake news, and the decline in trust in traditional media.

The forum's proceedings also address issues of media freedom, journalist safety, and the sustainability of media institutions, in addition to opportunities for innovation and collaboration between media and technology professionals, and the development of professional skills necessary to keep pace with the rapid changes in content creation.

The program includes keynote sessions, parallel tracks, specialized forums, and interactive events, alongside spaces dedicated to youth and content creators, with the aim of fostering the exchange of expertise, building partnerships, and anticipating future trends for the sector.
