The Director General of the Public Institution for Food and Drug, Rana Abaydat, launched an awareness campaign on the procedures and requirements for licensing home food professions and the safety and quality standards of food, which includes a series of awareness activities in various governorates of the Kingdom, aiming to simplify procedures and identify the challenges faced by the owners of these professions.
Abaydat said that the campaign comes within the framework of the institution's role in awareness and guidance, which is not limited to the regulatory aspect, but also includes enhancing awareness and compliance with food safety requirements, which contributes to supporting home food activities and enhancing the safety and quality of their products, thereby enhancing consumer confidence and supporting the development of these projects.
This came during the launch of an awareness workshop titled "My Kitchen is Licensed... My Food is Safe", with the participation of a number of local community women from home food profession owners, and aimed at raising awareness of the licensing requirements and enhancing the adopted health practices and standards for preparing, processing, and distributing food.
The workshop was accompanied by the opening of an exhibition of local community women's products.
Abaydat added that the institution is committed to enhancing partnership with the local community, stemming from its responsibility to enhance compliance with food safety requirements, thereby ensuring the safety and quality of products and protecting consumer health.
She pointed out that home food professions represent an opportunity for many women to turn their skills into productive and sustainable projects that contribute to economic and community activity.
Abaydat expressed her appreciation for the efforts of local community women and their role in supporting their families and communities, praising the success stories achieved by women in the field of licensed home food professions, which reflect their ability to turn their skills into productive projects that contribute to supporting their families and enhancing their participation in society.
Jordanian Women's Union
For her part, the President of the Jordanian Women's Union, Jalila Al-Samadi, said that the Jordanian woman has proven her ability to produce, innovate, and turn simple potentials into projects that provide real opportunities to improve family income.

She added that the success and sustainability of these projects require adherence to licensing requirements, health standards, and applicable instructions, emphasizing the importance of the role played by the institution through its awareness campaigns and technical guidance, which help project owners understand the necessary requirements and comply with them.
