Food and Drug Administration: Field survey of 155 olive presses before operation and implementation of 68 inspection tours during the production season

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) confirmed that the field surveys carried out by its specialized inspection and control cadres, in joint efforts with the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the relevant security services, are ongoing throughout the olive oil season, 24 hours a day, to verify the quality of the oil and ensure its safety. It explained that the surveys covered 155 olive presses in the Kingdom before the start of operations, in addition to the tours currently being conducted during the production phase, which have reached 68 tours so far.

The JFDA added that the tours resulted in the detection of only one violation at a farm north of Irbid Governorate, where legal action was taken. The JFDA pointed out that as part of its annual free campaign, "Test your oil before it enters your home," it provides a free, preliminary, and rapid testing service for olive oil samples to citizens at its various branches spread across the Kingdom's governorates, inviting citizens to take advantage of this service.

The JFDA called for communication with it via the official complaints platform through WhatsApp at the number (0795632000), or via the hotline (117114) in case of any observation, inquiry, or complaint.
