Visual artist Dana Kanaan continued her artistic journey in the world of visual and abstract art by launching her eighth solo exhibition titled 'What If... Sunshades of Possibilities', which was held in the Heritage Hall at the Irbid Cultural Center under the patronage of the President of Ajloun National University, Dr. Firas Al-Hanandeh. During the exhibition, Kanaan presented a collection of visual and abstract paintings that addressed the idea of hypotheses and possibilities, including many emotional and existential questions that haunt humans in their daily lives and different stages, in a striking artistic style that carries deep meanings and innovative visual composition.
Dr. Firas Al-Hanandeh emphasized during the opening of the exhibition the distinctiveness and uniqueness of this event, pointing out that it represents a new artistic style witnessed by the visual scene, where it combines asking the question and answering it on the same canvas.
Al-Hanandeh added that this innovative style gives the viewer a wide space for reflection and interaction with the displayed ideas, praising the high artistic sense and the philosophical message that Kanaan's works carried in embodying feelings and hypotheses with striking visual aesthetics.
For her part, artist Dana Kanaan explained that the exhibition came to answer the question of 'What If' that lives in the human conscience through its embodiment in a group of artistic paintings that carried the concept of 'Sunshades'; the exhibits included 'Sunshade of Coincidence' with the question 'What if coincidence returns?', 'Sunshade of Forgiveness' with 'What if he returns with an apology?', 'Sunshade of Disappointment' with 'What if disappointment has dignity?', in addition to 'Sunshade of Life' with 'What if the train of life returns?', 'Sunshade of Exile' with 'What if I found my mother's embrace in my exile?', and 'Sunshade of Homeland' with 'What if Palestine returns?'.
Kanaan continued that the paintings also extended to include 'Sunshade of Hesitation' with 'What if decisions remain pending?', 'Sunshade of Shock' with 'What if the rosy dream is a nightmare?', 'Sunshade of Regret' with 'What if I had contemplated it more before the loss?', 'Sunshade of Opportunities' with 'What if we seize the opportunities?', and concluded with 'Sunshade of Fragmentation' with 'What if I wasn't the heroine in this movie?'.
Kanaan affirmed that these artistic hypotheses open a wide horizon for the viewer to reflect and search for their own answers through the colors of the paintings and their visual compositions.
