President of the Hashemite Royal Court Yousef Hassan Al-Aisawi inaugurated, today Saturday in Amman, the exhibition and project "Jordan in Thought and Emotion", which presents a collection of artistic, engineering, and craft works inspired by the most prominent civilizational, cultural, and tourist sites in the Kingdom.
Al-Aisawi toured the exhibition halls, organized by the "Phoenix Rising Gallery for the Arts" Foundation, where he viewed the artworks that reflect a number of Jordanian sites and landmarks, and the artistic and architectural details they contain, inspired by the nature and historical and aesthetic specificity of the place, in an experience through which the Foundation seeks to present a contemporary artistic image of the Jordanian identity and its historical and heritage landmarks.
During his tour, Al-Aisawi listened to an explanation from the exhibition organizers about the cultural and artistic backgrounds of the displayed works, and the meanings they carry that draw inspiration from the history and cultural specificity of Jordanian sites and landmarks, alongside an introduction to the artistic, engineering, and craft techniques used in their execution, and the meanings that each piece seeks to highlight in documenting the Jordanian place and presenting it in a creative contemporary image.
The "Jordan in Thought and Emotion" project includes works that embody about 50 civilizational, cultural, and tourist sites in various regions of the Kingdom, including Amman, Al-Qal'a, Ajloun, and Petra, presented in handmade artistic models that combine art, engineering, and craftsmanship, while preserving the distinctive features of each site.
The project includes at least 3000 artistic pieces, completed over years of continuous work, to present models and souvenirs carrying the image of Jordan and its landmarks to different parts of the world, linking the artistic product to the Jordanian place, its history, and its civilizational heritage.
Dr. Aisha Al-Khawaja Al-Razem, Director of the Phoenix Rising Foundation, said that the "Jordan in Thought and Emotion" project is the result of years of hard work, with the aim of presenting the civilizational, cultural, and tourist identity of Jordan in an innovative artistic image, reflecting the specificity of the Jordanian place and presenting it to the world in a creative mold that carries a distinctive national character.
Al-Razem added that the project was based on continuous self-effort, starting from the belief in the importance of employing creativity, craftsmanship, and manual work in presenting Jordan in a way that befits its history and status, noting that the project seeks to make its artistic pieces a means of introducing Jordan and its landmarks and conveying its civilizational message to the world.
The "Phoenix Rising Gallery for the Arts" is responsible for implementing the project, under the supervision of Dr. Aisha Al-Khawaja Al-Razem and her two daughters, in a creative experience led by Jordanian women, combining art, engineering, and manual craftsmanship in re-presenting Jordanian sites and landmarks within artistic works that carry the identity and spirit of the place.
