Discussing the implementation of a project to digitize 23 services for the Ministry of Awqaf

The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, and the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, discussed during a meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry of Digital Economy's headquarters the commencement of a project to digitize 23 government services provided by the Ministry of Awqaf, as part of ongoing government efforts to expand the digitization of services and facilitate citizens' access to them.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Digital Economy, the project comes within the framework of the ministry's role in empowering ministries and government institutions to implement digital transformation projects by providing technical and technological support, coordinating with relevant authorities, and cooperating with specialized private sector companies in executing these projects, in order to develop government services, simplify their procedures, raise the efficiency of their delivery, and improve the service recipient's experience.

The project includes making the targeted services available electronically via the Ministry of Awqaf's electronic portal, supported by an electronic system for managing services and related procedures, which contributes to accelerating transaction completion and reducing the time and effort required to obtain the services.

The services included in the project are distributed across a number of areas, most notably endowment (waqf) services, donations and aid, services for Quran houses, centers, and Islamic centers, Sharia education and teachers' services, Umrah services, licensing of buses and centers, in addition to other services including participation in the Hashemite Competition.

The implementation of the project falls within government efforts to achieve the targets of the Economic Modernization Vision and the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, thereby enhancing the efficiency of government work and the quality of services provided to citizens.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both ministries, representatives of the company executing the project, and members of the relevant working teams from various parties.
