Cyberattack leaks data of 41,000 employees at the US Department of Homeland Security

A non-governmental organization dedicated to publishing information leaks announced on Wednesday that it had published data belonging to more than 41,000 employees at the US Department of Homeland Security.

The organization "Distributed Denial of Secrets" stated that it obtained this sensitive information from a group of hackers known as "Department of Peace," who created a tool called "Icepick" that allows for detailed searches of employees' names, offices, and job functions.

Activist Emma Best said in a statement for the organization that "this data is massive, both in terms of volume and impact."

The organization's co-founder, Emma Best, described the leak as "extraordinary." The organization explained that "the data reveals the identities of officials responsible for overseeing covert and undercover operations, the government campaign to pursue whistleblowers, as well as key personnel responsible for the forced transport and deportation programs of the US Department of Homeland Security, which are constantly escalating."

This campaign has led to the detention and deportation of thousands of illegal immigrants, and this measure has also affected US citizens.
