Content of the Royal Speech: Steadfastness in principles in word and deed

The King’s speech at the opening of the ordinary session of the House of Representatives was comprehensive, addressing both internal and regional challenges. It clarified, beyond any doubt, Jordanian positions and constants, stemming from the firm belief that Jordanians are the people and the support, and that love for Jordan begins with appreciating its generosity and the dignity of the nation through truthful words, as well as the importance of upholding the ethics of disagreement. Anyone who thinks that Jordanians would retreat from their principles and constants is delusional. The constants of the Jordanian state begin with consolidating the rule of law, enhancing the economic modernization path, protecting national resources, and safeguarding the rights of Jordanians to responsible expression, in a way that serves the security and stability of the Kingdom and its ability to face challenges internally and externally. The hand of terrorism that reached out to test the firmness of our state and the pride of our people will be met by us with determination; we will not allow these outlaw terrorists to harm the security and unity of the nation. These are not among us, and those who have betrayed the trust of the nation have no place among us, and the blood of the martyrs is a vow upon our necks. The Jordanian state will combat extremism and terrorism with all its capabilities and potential in order to protect the security and stability of the state; anyone who deviates from the nation’s constants is not one of us, and has no place among us.

The Arab dimensions and the defense of the causes of the Arab nation are the habit of the Hashemites from father to grandfather, and will remain so for their descendants. We will defend the causes of the nation regardless of what or where they are, and there is no path to security and stability in the region without fulfilling the rights of the Palestinian people to their land. We categorically reject Israeli attacks in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and we stand against Israeli policies of expansion and ambition, as they pose a threat to the future of the region. Tyranny does not create legitimacy, and the passage of time does not erase the truth, and Jordan will not retreat from its principles; anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. Regarding the importance of the legislative authority, especially the House of Representatives, it must be the voice of the nation, a guardian of the national interest, committed to national unity, and strengthening the internal front. Jordanians do not look only at the laws that emerge from this chamber, but also at the behavior and discourse that come from it, meaning it must be a role model and a national voice in position and conduct. The speech addressed true development whose impact the citizen feels in their livelihood and life, noting that we are progressing in areas of economic modernization and major projects that are the foundation for building this modernization, and that water and water security are a national priority, and the importance of preserving them and not allowing anyone to tamper with them, as they are not a subject for compromise or appeasement.

Public office is not an honor for avoiding work or failing to serve people; there is no immunity for anyone who abuses their position, whoever they may be. The prestige of the state and the rule of law take precedence over everything. It is a call for public service, solving people’s problems, and serving them. There is no immunity for any corrupt person who exploits their position, for the law recognizes no name, position, or influence.

The speech addressed the importance of true belonging to the nation and loyalty to its land, and the role that we, as citizens, must play in appreciating the nation's generosity and dignity. The speech constitutes a historical document related to the authentic Jordanian principles and values that are employed in the service of the security and stability of the country and its people. May God protect the leadership, the people, and the nation from all harm.
