The Greater Mafraq Municipality continues to carry out field work to care for trees and green spaces in the city, by removing dead and dry palm trees, weeding and cleaning sites, as part of its efforts aimed at improving the urban landscape and maintaining the aesthetic appearance of public facilities.

The municipality's Agriculture Directorate staff carried out field work that included removing a number of dry palm trees, in addition to removing dry weeds and cleaning the sites surrounding the trees, while the work included the new complex and a number of other sites in the city.

Acting Head of the Greater Mafraq Municipality Committee, Dr. Alia Akhurshedeh, said that the removal of dead trees comes within the municipality's ongoing work to address field observations and maintain the safety and general appearance of the city.

She stressed that the municipality attaches importance to the agricultural and aesthetic aspect, and works through its staff to follow up on trees and green spaces and care for sustainable trees, in addition to removing trees that have dried up and need replacement or treatment.

Akhurshedeh added that field work will continue in various areas of the city, according to priorities and available capabilities, with the aim of improving the reality of green spaces and enhancing the urban environment in Mafraq.

She stressed that the sight of dead trees in a number of locations highlights the importance of having a sustainable tree planting plan, based on selecting species suitable for the climatic and environmental conditions in Mafraq, in addition to providing regular irrigation, maintenance, and follow-up programs, to ensure achieving the desired benefit from afforestation projects and preserving trees for as long as possible.
