The Director of Agriculture for the Kura District, Engineer Abdul-Ilah Obeidat, announced the commencement of fieldwork for the afforestation project at the 'Sirtab' site, as part of the 'Green Jobs' project, which is included under the National Afforestation Program, funded by the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW). Obeidat confirmed that the project is being implemented in full coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, under the supervision and field monitoring of the Innovation Threads Consulting Company, within the framework of national directions to enhance environmental security and expand the vegetation cover in the region.

Obeidat explained that this project aims to achieve environmental development by increasing green spaces and combating desertification, ensuring the sustainability of natural resources, alongside its economic and social aspect, which is the creation of green and sustainable job opportunities for the local community and Syrian refugees. He added that the project seeks to establish the foundations of sustainable development and positively empower local communities, noting that this field launch at the 'Sirtab' site represents a key milestone that outlines the operational features of the National Afforestation Program and reinforces the commitment of partner institutions to achieving a tangible developmental and environmental impact.
