Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received a phone call from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region, in light of the continued Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns.
The Lebanese Presidency announced in a statement today, Thursday, that Aoun requested Rubio to pressure Israel to stop these attacks, adhere to the provisions of the framework agreement, cease bulldozing operations, and enable farmers to access their fields without being subjected to harm.
The statement indicated that President Aoun expressed to Secretary Rubio that the army and security forces are fully performing their duties in implementing decisions related to preventing armed manifestations, confiscating weapons and ammunition, and combating smuggling, pointing out that the judicial authorities are following up on all files referred to them, and there will be no leniency with perpetrators, and laws will be applied without any favoritism.
