Amman Municipality announced a light state of emergency starting from Monday evening, and a medium state of emergency starting from Tuesday morning, to deal with the weather situation.
The Municipality confirmed the readiness of its field staff to handle any reports received at the Tala' Al-Ali emergency room, urging citizens to contact the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180) if they notice any issues.
The Municipality called for caution and advised to stay away from wadi streams and low-lying areas, not to connect house gutters to sewage outlets to prevent them from flooding the roads, and not to litter randomly as it causes the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
It also stressed the need to check submersible pumps in floors and commercial shops located below street level, and for traders to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and settlement floors.
Amman Municipality urged contractors and construction project owners to secure construction materials to avoid their drifting and directly causing the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
