Amman Chamber of Commerce: Outcomes of the King's Visit to London Must Be Translated into Actions and Investments

The Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, along with the British Ambassador to the Kingdom, Philip Hall, discussed on Sunday the steps that the Jordanian private sector can take to translate the outcomes of His Majesty King Abdullah II's visit to the London capital last July.

Both sides emphasized the need to build on the significant momentum witnessed by the business forum held on the sidelines of the visit, which contributes to increasing trade exchange and establishing partnerships between the business communities, raising their trade exchanges, and attracting investments.

They also discussed during the meeting held at the Chamber's headquarters, opportunities for cooperation in the sectors of technology, digital economy, water, transportation, health, tourism, logistics services, and value-added industries.

The President of the Chamber, Al-Ain Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, stressed the necessity of translating the outcomes of His Majesty's visit into actions and investments, identifying the targeted companies, projects, and sectors, following up on British companies that have shown interest in Jordan, and expanding the base of Jordanian products and services capable of entering the British market.

He also emphasized the Chamber's readiness to cooperate with the Economic and Trade Section of the British Embassy to connect Jordanian companies with their British counterparts, and to exchange information about commercial and investment opportunities and suppliers, which contributes to building direct partnerships and opening new channels for Jordanian products and services.

He pointed to the importance of activating the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the West London Chambers of Commerce, through the exchange of delegations, organizing business meetings, and introducing commercial and investment opportunities, stressing that the value of memoranda of understanding is measured by the actual work and partnerships that result from them.

He also called for communication with British companies operating in the region and introducing them to the advantages of Jordan, encouraging them to invest in it, and taking it as a platform to reach regional markets.

For his part, Ambassador Hall affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen trade and investment relations with Jordan and expand ties between the business communities, pointing to the importance of increasing cooperation between companies and taking advantage of available opportunities.

Ambassador Hall called for the need to communicate with British companies that use the region as regional centers for their business and introduce them to the opportunities available in the Kingdom, in addition to activating the tourist movement between the two countries according to a joint work program.

It is worth noting that the Kingdom's exports to the British market during the first half of the current year 2026 amounted to about 36 million dinars, compared to 121 million dinars in imports.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy President of the Chamber, Nabil Al-Khatib, and Board Member Amjad Al-Sweilmeen.
