The Irbid District Electricity Company organized a solidarity vigil today in front of its headquarters, with the participation of its General Manager, Engineer Bashar Al-Tamimi, and its employees, to condemn the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the Greek Orthodox Church in the town of Hamoud in Karak Governorate during a funeral, which resulted in the martyrdom of nine people and the injury of others.
Participants held banners condemning the terrorist crime and affirming solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the injured, and adherence to the unity and cohesion of Jordanians in the face of attempts to sow discord and undermine the security and stability of the homeland.
In a speech delivered during the vigil, Al-Tamimi said that this stance embodies the unified feelings of Jordanians in the face of the tragedy, affirming: "The pain of Karak is the pain of Irbid, the blood of its martyrs is the blood of Jordan, and the affliction of its people is the affliction of us all."
He added that Jordan is greater than terrorism and stronger than hatred, and that the hand of treachery and criminality will not undermine its unity, stressing that targeting houses of worship will not sow discord among the people of the nation, who are united by a shared history and a single destiny under the Hashemite banner.
Al-Tamimi emphasized that Jordanians, Muslims and Christians, stand as one rank in the face of terrorism, adhering to the values of brotherhood and coexistence, and said: "We are all Karak... and we are all Jordan! Terrorism will not intimidate us, sedition will not divide us, and our will will not be broken."
He renewed his pride in the Hashemite leadership, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, affirming the rallying around His Majesty, adherence to national constants, and the defense of Jordan's security, stability, and unity, and that the cohesion of Jordanians will remain a rock upon which attempts to tamper with the homeland will shatter.
Al-Tamimi concluded his speech by praying for the souls of the martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, and praying that God protects Jordan, its people, and its Hashemite leadership.
The company's offices in the governorates of Jerash, Ajloun, and Mafraq also witnessed solidarity vigils with the participation of their employees, condemning the terrorist attack and expressing their condolences to the families of the martyrs and the injured, and their solidarity with their people in Karak.
