Al-Sharaa: The Golan is Syrian land and all annexation measures are null

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa said that his country "has united from north to south, the weapon has been contained, the security institutions have been rebuilt, and reconstruction and investment projects have begun."

Al-Sharaa added in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday that Syrian national constants are becoming more firmly rooted "by the force of law and the will of the people", affirming that the Golan "will remain Syrian land, and all annexation measures are null and void by the force of UN Security Council Resolution 497".

Al-Sharaa rejected the repeated and ongoing "Israeli encroachments" on his country, and "its constant attempts to impose fait accompli and its extended aggressions in the region, disrupting security and stability", affirming his country's commitment to the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement. He said that a "historic peace opportunity exists for those who want to live in peace, a just peace that preserves the rights of all".
