The Mutah District Directorate implemented a cleanliness campaign at Ma'an Basic Boys' School, with the participation of students from the school and several official, security, and community institutions, as part of efforts to enhance environmental awareness and to establish a culture of cleanliness and the preservation of the environment and public facilities.
Dr. Iyad Al-Majali, the Mutah District Commissioner, confirmed that the implementation of such initiatives stems from the importance of strengthening the partnership between official institutions and the local community, and translating the shared responsibility towards the environment into field activities that contribute to improving the environmental reality and establishing positive behaviors among community members.
Al-Majali said that involving students in cleanliness campaigns and volunteer work carries an educational message that goes beyond the environmental aspect, as it helps instill values of belonging, responsibility, cooperation, and teamwork, and enhances the students' sense that maintaining the school, public facilities, and the surrounding environment is a collective responsibility.
He pointed out that the Mutah District Directorate is keen to support initiatives and activities that bring together various related institutions and entities, affirming that the integration between official bodies, municipalities, educational and environmental institutions, security, and the local community represents an effective model in serving the community and enhancing the quality of the surrounding environment.
Al-Majali noted that the school is one of the most important environments through which proper environmental behavior can be built, as it is the place where the student acquires knowledge, values, and practices that accompany them in their daily lives, emphasizing the importance of transforming the concepts of cleanliness and environmental preservation from theoretical information into practical behavior practiced by students continuously.
For its part, the Directorate of Education for the Southern Mazar District emphasized the importance of student participation in environmental and volunteer initiatives, considering it part of the school's role in building a balanced student personality and enhancing their sense of belonging and community responsibility, pointing to its support for activities that contribute to providing a clean, safe, and motivating school environment for learning.
Participants emphasized the importance of continuing such campaigns and initiatives, and expanding the scope of partnership between official institutions and the local community, to ensure the sustainability of environmental awareness and the transformation of maintaining cleanliness into a well-established daily culture and behavior among students and the community.
This initiative comes within the framework of a trend that enhances the role of official institutions in supporting the school environment, and opening the door for students to participate in community activities, which contributes to building a generation more aware of the importance of cleanliness and the preservation of public property and environmental resources.
