The head of the Jordan Economic Forum, Khair Abu Saailik, said on Monday that the successive royal visits to Asian countries aim to mobilize support for Jordanian positions regarding regional issues, in light of the escalating Israeli attacks on Palestinians in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
Abu Saailik added that the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Malaysia gains importance in its timing and momentum, in light of the escalating regional developments, pointing to the distinguished relations that link the two countries, which span more than six decades.
He explained that Malaysia represents an important partner for Jordan, in light of its rising economy and progress in the fields of technology and exports, in addition to its political weight and regional and international relations, which makes mobilizing its support for regional issues an important matter.
He pointed to the alignment of Jordanian and Malaysian positions regarding the main issues in the region, noting that His Majesty the King is leading a diplomatic effort to stop the Israeli escalation, confront attempts at displacement, and support the two-state solution.
Abu Saailik emphasized that the intersection of positions between the two countries can be utilized to pressure the international community to support the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, open sustainable relief corridors, and contribute to the reconstruction of the Strip.
He pointed out that Malaysia, with its economic capabilities, political reach, and regional alliances, can contribute to supporting Jordanian efforts aimed at mobilizing an international position to pressure for an end to Israeli attacks.
He said that Jordan seeks to expand the base of its political partnerships and build international alliances that go beyond traditional frameworks, rather than moving from one international axis to another, noting the growing importance of Asian countries on the international stage in light of the growth of their economies, their technological progress, and their influence on international policies.
He added that diversifying the paths of diplomatic movement and building partnerships with influential Asian countries would enhance Jordanian efforts to pressure the Israeli government and support positions related to the Palestinian cause and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
