Youth of Ajloun: Discussing Topics and Issues Based on Presenting Arguments and Evidence

The activities of the debate art course, implemented in partnership with the Youth of All of Us Jordan - the youth arm of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development as part of the 'Voice of Youth' program, concluded at the Nasij Institution for Sustainable Development.

The course culminated in the implementation of a public debate day, hosted by the Nasij Institution, with the presence of a number of representatives of national, academic, and professional institutions in Ajloun Governorate, including the Ajloun Governorate Council, Ajloun University College, Ajloun National University, and the Bar Association.

The debate day provided a real opportunity for young people to apply the skills they acquired during the course, by discussing topics and issues based on presenting arguments and evidence, listening to the other opinion, and responding to it in a scientific and systematic manner, reflecting the importance of dialogue as a tool for understanding, participation, and influence.

The participants demonstrated a distinguished level of presence, interaction, and the ability to present arguments and defend viewpoints, in an experience that combined training, practice, and dialogue in front of an audience from various sectors.

At the conclusion of the debate events, certificates were distributed to the participants in appreciation of their participation and commitment during the course stages, and the winning team 'Team Al-Muwaalat' was honored for the saying that this council believes that political life must start from schools and universities, in appreciation of its performance and excellence during the public debate.

This event comes within the framework of the Nasij Institution for Sustainable Development's keenness to provide safe and effective spaces for young people to express their opinions, develop their dialogue and critical thinking skills, and enhance their ability to deal with community issues and public opinion in a responsible and objective manner.

The partnership with the Youth of All of Us Jordan also reflects the importance of integrating efforts between youth institutions and civil society organizations in building young people's capacities, and opening the door for them to transition from receiving knowledge to practicing it, and from dialogue inside the training hall to dialogue in front of the community.
