Yemeni Army: We carried out 1,382 operations against the Houthis and made progress in Taiz

The Yemeni Army announced on Tuesday evening that it had carried out 1,382 targeting operations against the Houthi group over the past hours, stating that they resulted in the neutralization of about 440 of the group's members and leaders, and the achievement of new field progress in Taiz Governorate, in the southwest of the country.

This came in a statement by the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili, which he published on the American "X" platform.

Al-Nuzaili said that "our armed forces continue to develop their offensive operations as part of the 'Dawn of Yemen' operation, and have carried out 1,382 precise and direct targeting operations over the past hours."

He explained that the operations targeted "field command centers, fortifications, sources of fire, mobilizations and reserves, as well as reinforcements and means of movement and supply for the terrorist Houthi militia."

He added that the operations resulted in "neutralizing about 440 of the militia's leaders and members," in addition to destroying and disabling 146 military vehicles, transport means, pieces of heavy weaponry, and combat equipment.

In Taiz Governorate, Al-Nuzaili said that army units and the Popular Resistance carried out, with air support, coordinated raids and attacks using various tactical methods.

He added that the operations thwarted Houthi attempts to regain lost positions and resulted in new field progress and strengthened fire control over a number of strategic sites and heights.

Taiz Governorate has been witnessing violent confrontations for weeks between the Yemeni Army and the Houthi group, which have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries on both sides.

On the Bab al-Mandab, Dhubab, and Al-Madaribah fronts in Taiz, Al-Nuzaili announced that army forces thwarted Houthi infiltration attempts and targeted their reinforcements and military vehicles.

He also reported that army units continued their offensive operations in the northern, northwestern, and eastern fronts of the capital, Sanaa, with support from armored vehicles, artillery, and drones.

He explained that these operations targeted Houthi movements, their command centers, weapon emplacements, warehouses, and fortifications, which, according to the statement, led to restricting their ability to maneuver and move reinforcements between fronts.

Al-Nuzaili confirmed the continuation of simultaneous military operations across the fronts to achieve further field gains, while taking the necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian facilities.

There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding what the Yemeni Army announced.

These developments come amid a military escalation in Yemen since July 2026, which is considered the broadest since the period of relative calm that followed the start of the truce in April 2022.

Since October 5, the "Dawn of Yemen" military operation has been ongoing, which the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, said aims to restore state institutions from the Houthis and take control of the capital, Sanaa.

Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and several governorates in September 2014, before an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
