Yemen.. The Army announces the execution of 753 targeting operations against the Houthis within 24 hours

The Yemeni Army announced on Sunday the execution of 753 targeting operations against Houthi military sites and capabilities over the past 24 hours, stating that they resulted in the neutralization of about 218 of the group's members and field commanders, and the destruction and disabling of 78 vehicles and pieces of weaponry.

In a statement, the Yemeni Army said that its forces are continuing their offensive operations as part of the "Dawn of Yemen" operation, and have carried out 753 targeting operations over the past 24 hours, which it described as "precise and direct" against the Houthis' military capabilities.

It explained that the strikes hit advanced field command and control centers, leadership bodies, fortifications, and fire sources, in addition to military gatherings, reinforcements, and transport and supply vehicles belonging to the group.

It added that the operations contributed to disrupting the deployment of Houthi reinforcements to the battlefronts and supporting the raiding, storming, and maneuvering operations carried out by army forces across various axes.

According to the statement, the strikes resulted in the "neutralization of about 218 of the militia's members and field commanders," in addition to the destruction and disabling of 78 vehicles, military equipment, and pieces of heavy and medium weaponry.

The Army confirmed the continued development of its offensive with the aim of weakening the Houthis' ability to mobilize their forces and reorganize their ranks.

It pointed out that its operations are limited to what it described as "legitimate military targets," while taking the necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian objects.

It was not possible to verify the announced toll of the operations from independent sources, and there was no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding what was stated in the report.

Since last July, military escalation in Yemen has renewed between government forces and the Houthi group, particularly in the governorates of Taiz and Lahj in the southwest of the country, amidst casualties and increasing waves of displacement.

The renewed fighting has led to the end of the relative calm the country had witnessed since April 2022, while the humanitarian crisis has worsened with the continuation of clashes and the displacement of residents from their areas.

Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and other governorates in September 2014, before a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
