Yemen.. 476 Houthis killed and injured in 356 targeting operations on 10 fronts

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense announced on Monday the execution of 356 operations against Houthi group targets over the past 24 hours, stating that they resulted in the killing and injury of 476 Houthi elements, and the destruction of their command and control centers and military vehicles, on 10 fronts.

This was stated in a statement by the official spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Colonel Major General Majed Al-Nazly, published by the Ministry of Defense's account on the American platform 'X'.

The statement noted that the government armed forces carried out 356 precise targeting operations over the past 24 hours 'against the reinforcements and military capabilities of the terrorist Houthi militia'.

It explained that the operations took place on 10 fronts distributed from the far north to the western coast, the south, and the center.

These fronts include the western coast, Haradh in Hajjah Governorate (northwest Yemen), Al-Tuwal near Hajjah, Kitaf and Al-Baqaa in Saada Governorate (north), Al-Ulaibi in Saada, Al-Jawf (northeast), Marib (east), Lahj (south), Taiz (southwest), and Al-Baydaa (center).

The statement pointed out that the operations resulted in 'neutralizing 476 elements of the terrorist militia between killed and wounded, in addition to the destruction of a number of command and control centers, weapons depots, enemy field artillery, and the destruction and disabling of many enemy military vehicles and equipment'.

It added that '(the militia), in a continuous approach to using innocent civilians as human shields, turned schools into command and control centers, weapons depots, and advanced military supply warehouses'.

It continued: '(The group) not only stripped the peaceful civilian purpose of those facilities, but also forced the locals to send their children to study while they continued to be present in those schools, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and norms'.

Colonel Al-Nazly affirmed that 'the armed forces continue to monitor and target the reinforcements and sources of enemy threat, and will continue their operations against the legitimate military targets of the terrorist Houthi militia'.

No immediate comment was issued by the Houthis on the Yemeni Ministry of Defense's statement.

Battlefronts in Yemen are witnessing a military escalation, amid renewed clashes between government forces and group fighters in several governorates, including Taiz, Lahj, Marib, Al-Jawf, Al-Baydaa, and others.

These developments are part of a military escalation that began in early July 2026, the largest since the relative calm that followed the April 2022 truce.

The pace of fighting accelerated during September 2023, leading to the Houthis' control of several vital centers in the governorates of Hodeidah and Taiz, including the strategic city of Al-Mukhah, reaching Mayun Island overlooking the international maritime strait of Bab al-Mandeb.

Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital Sanaa and several governorates in September 2014, before the intervention of an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
