West Bank.. 5 Palestinians injured after being beaten by the Israeli army

Five Palestinians were injured on Monday after being beaten by Israeli soldiers in two areas in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews transported two injured people to the hospital as a result of being "assaulted and beaten by occupation forces" in the town of Anabta, Tulkarm Governorate.

It added, in a separate statement, that its crews also transported 3 injured people from the town of Burqa in the Nablus Governorate, northern West Bank, after they were assaulted and beaten by the Israeli army.

In the same context, the Palestinian news agency "Wafa" said that the Israeli army fired gas canisters at Palestinian citizens at the Ein Siniya military checkpoint, north of the city of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

It added that "the occupation forces tightened their military measures at the checkpoint and obstructed the movement of vehicles, causing a severe traffic jam, before firing toxic gas canisters at the citizens, with no injuries reported."

On the other hand, the agency said that an Israeli court rejected appeals to stop the demolition of residential and agricultural facilities in the northern Jordan Valley.

It quoted the official in charge of the settlement file in Tubas Governorate, Mutaz Bisharat, as saying that "the occupation rejected appeals submitted by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission and the Tubas Governorate to stop the demolition of residential and agricultural facilities for eight citizens in the northern Jordan Valley."

Bisharat added that "the occupation is racing against time to carry out the largest demolition operations in the Jordan Valley, as part of a systematic policy to uproot citizens from their lands."

Since the outbreak of the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the West Bank has witnessed an escalation in army raids and settler attacks on Palestinians and their property, amid warnings of the repercussions of the continuation of these attacks.
