US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he will take his time before appointing a new White House spokesperson following the resignation of Caroline Levit, who was known for her sharp responses to journalists.
Trump told reporters before leaving Ireland, "Do you know what we will do for a while? We will use the ministers" to hold press briefings.
He added, "But in the end, I will choose someone"
Caroline Levit, 28, who is the youngest person to hold this position, left her duties at the end of August.
Since then, there has been much speculation in Washington about who will replace her in the position.
Levit's departure, who expressed her desire to devote more time to her family after the birth of her second child in May, comes as Trump faces a continued decline in public support and the risk of his party suffering a defeat in the midterm elections in November.
