US President Donald Trump demanded on Wednesday a rapid reduction in interest rates in the United States, shortly after the Federal Reserve raised them by a quarter percentage point due to inflation, for the first time in three years.
Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social, "We are carrying almost all the countries of the world on our shoulders, and this cannot continue. Cut interest rates in the United States, quickly!"
