Khaled Fanatsah, President of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Jordan, affirmed that His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein's speech before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly embodies Jordan's stances towards regional and international issues, and reflects a clear vision in defending security, stability, justice, and the rights of peoples.
Fanatsah said in a press statement issued by the Federation today, Tuesday, that His Majesty's affirmation regarding what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank falls within a single strategy, and what he proposed regarding the necessity for the international community to assume its responsibilities reflects the clarity and steadfastness of the Jordanian position in defending the rights of the Palestinian people, rejecting policies of displacement, expansion, and settlement, and affirming that just and comprehensive peace will not be achieved except by ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Fanatsah pointed out that His Majesty's affirmation that any threat to the northern borders of the Kingdom or its water security is a threat to national security reflects the priority of protecting Jordan, its capabilities, and the interests of its people, stressing that the labor union movement stands behind these national constants.
Fanatsah added that His Majesty's talk about building economic, trade, and technological ties, in parallel with facing regional crises, highlights the importance of continuing the development journey and enhancing the national economy, which will reflect on job opportunities, social protection, and improving the standard of living of citizens.
Fanatsah appreciated His Majesty's affirmation that Jordanian diplomacy is based on values and principles, and that the Kingdom's adherence to dialogue and peace does not mean weakness, stressing that His Majesty's speech presents an integrated vision of Jordan's role in protecting its interests, defending just causes, and contributing to building a world that is more secure, stable, and respectful of international law.
