The Public Security Directorate Launches "Tawasol" Initiative for Deaf Students to Enhance Their Role in Security Awareness

The Public Security Directorate launched the "Tawasol" initiative on Tuesday in several schools across the Kingdom, aiming to enhance communication with deaf students and enable them to access awareness, security, and community messages in ways that consider their needs, and contribute to their active participation and role in society.

The implementation of the initiative comes within the framework of the Public Security Directorate's keenness to reach various segments of society, reinforce the concept of community policing, and promote inclusive education. This is achieved by training a group of students and enabling them to convey awareness information and concepts to their peers, both deaf and hearing, through interactive methods that contribute to building bridges of communication, enhancing self-confidence, and instilling positive values and behaviors in them from a young age.

The initiative addresses a number of awareness topics that touch on the daily lives of students, including the risks of electronic games, the safe use of technology and social media, the importance of environmental conservation, as well as traffic culture and general safety rules, among other topics that contribute to enhancing security and community awareness, and reinforcing concepts of commitment, discipline, and responsibility among students.

The Public Security Directorate emphasized that the initiative stems from its belief that people with disabilities are an integral and active part of society, and that involving them in awareness and community programs and activities is a shared responsibility. This contributes to enhancing their confidence in their abilities and potential, reinforces their right to participate and interact, and provides them with opportunities for learning and knowledge.
