"The Hashemite Leadership Made Culture a Bulwark to Protect Identity and a Weapon to Foresee the Future"

Al-Suhail at the opening of the Arab Cultural Conference in Amman:

"The Hashemite Leadership Made Culture a Bulwark to Protect Identity and a Weapon to Foresee the Future"

The writer Dr. Sarah Talib Al-Suhail affirmed that the Jordanian cultural experience under His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein represents a unique Arab model of direct royal patronage of thought, literature, and creativity, noting that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has succeeded thanks to this vision to be a fortress of awareness and a comprehensive umbrella for all Arab intellectuals and creators from various cities and capitals.

This came during her prominent participation in the works of the Arab Cultural Conference (in its eighth session), which was held by the Jordan Cultural Forum Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, under the title "The Cultural Scene in the Era of His Majesty King Abdullah II through the Eyes of Arab Writers and Intellectuals", which was hosted by the activities of the Royal Cultural Center in the capital Amman, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Professor Mustafa Al-Ruwaished, and in the presence of the President of the Association, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hayassat, His Excellency Dr. Yousef Al-Hayassat, the prominent writer Hayam Damour, and a high-level elite of writers, academics, and media from Jordan and the sister Arab countries.

In her detailed speech at the conference, Al-Suhail emphasized that the conscious reading of the Jordanian cultural scene should not stop at the limits of documentation or recording digital and institutional achievements, but should extend to understanding the philosophy of the high royal vision. Al-Suhail said: "We are not meeting today in Amman to read the cultural scene in the blessed era as historical witnesses or transient time stations, but to evoke a well-established royal approach that has made thought, word, and awareness a strategic weapon to build human beings, preserve dignity, and protect the Arab identity in the face of the stormy challenges facing the region."

Explaining the national depth of Jordan: "Jordan, with its wise Hashemite leadership, has proven that culture is not an intellectual luxury or a margin in the book of the state, but it is the first wall of defense for authenticity and the humanitarian message. Hence, the value of this forum, which brings together the elite of thought and thinkers from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Palestine on the Hashemite land of Amman; to reaffirm that the Kingdom will remain the meeting place and safe haven for every free voice, and the solid and authentic supporter of the issues of our Arab and Islamic nation, foremost of which is our central issue, the Palestinian cause."

Regarding the role assigned to cultural and literary elites at the present time, Dr. Al-Suhail noted that the delicate stage the nation is going through requires a transition in the cultural discourse to become more effective and influential in the community field. She said: "The responsibility of the Arab writer and intellectual today goes beyond theorizing and creating, to reach the trust of making hope, and planting the values of belonging and awareness in the minds of our rising generations. What we see today with loyal Arab eyes in the Jordanian scene is a journey full of pluralism, development, and embracing youth energies, which embodies the royal vision that sees culture as a fundamental lever for comprehensive development and national renaissance."

Al-Suhail concluded her participation by expressing the highest words of thanks and appreciation to the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, the Jordan Cultural Forum Association, and all those responsible for organizing this eighth Arab Conference, praising the exceptional efforts to make this prominent intellectual event a success. Al-Suhail called for translating the conference's topics into recommendations and field initiatives that serve the joint Arab cultural movement and preserve its memory and present, wishing Jordan continued prosperity and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect him.
