The Golden Triangle.. When Culture Becomes an Ambassador for Jordanian Tourism

Aqaba, at the conclusion of the twelfth session of the «Jordanian International Cultural and Tourism Golden Triangle Festival 2026», was not just a stop for literary and artistic events, but transformed into a space for cultural exchange and the promotion of Jordan's tourist and heritage assets, with the participation of writers, poets, intellectuals, and media professionals from Jordan and several Arab countries.

The festival, organized by the Oasis of Thought and Literature Association under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, in cooperation with the Aqaba Company for Port Management and Operation, combined poetry evenings, intellectual seminars, and artistic performances, alongside events that highlighted aspects of Jordanian heritage.

The president of the association, Shawkat Al-Batush, said that the festival aims to combine cultural activity and tourism promotion, by moving its events between the vertices of the golden triangle; Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Rum, allowing participants to learn about the historical, natural, and cultural diversity that the Kingdom is rich in.

Participants from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Palestine, and Iraq confirmed that the festival provided a platform for Arab cultural exchange and contributed to introducing participants to Jordanian tourist and heritage sites, considering that the presence of poets, intellectuals, and media professionals in these sites opens the door to producing cultural and media content capable of conveying the image of Jordan to a wider audience.

Cultural tourism specialists pointed out that Aqaba has the potential to become a destination for cultural tourism alongside its maritime and tourist status, while participants emphasized the importance of continuing such events and expanding Arab and international participation.

The festival concluded its activities by affirming the continuation of its development in future sessions, enhancing the presence of culture as a source of tourism and establishing the golden triangle as a unifying space between history, nature, and creativity.
