The Diwan of the People of Karak in Amman condemns the attack on Hammoud Church in Karak and expresses its anger

The Diwan of the People of Karak in Amman follows with deep sadness and anger the news of the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted peaceful worshipers today, Friday, October 23, 2026, during a funeral procession at Hammoud Church in Karak Governorate, resulting in martyrs and injuries to others, according to what was announced by the Public Security Directorate and official sources.

The Diwan of the People of Karak - Amman, representing all the people of Karak, both Muslims and Christians, affirms the following:

First: Its absolute condemnation of this brutal terrorist act that targeted safe places of worship and innocent lives; it is an attack on every Karakian and Jordanian, and on our shared values and history.

Second: The social fabric of Karak, both Christian and Muslim, is one, rooted for centuries, and the bullets of treachery will not be able to tear it apart. The affliction of our people in Hammoud is our affliction, and their blood is our blood.

Third: We offer our condolences to ourselves and the families of the righteous martyrs, pray for the speedy recovery of the injured, and affirm our full support for their families and clans in this grave tragedy.

Fourth: We declare our absolute confidence in and full support for the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, the Public Security Directorate, and our security services, which have begun combing and pursuing the perpetrators, and we demand the harshest penalties be imposed on those who planned, executed, and financed this criminal act.

Fifth: We call on all the people of Karak and Jordanians to stand together, exercise restraint, not be drawn into rumors, obtain information from its official sources, and allow the security services to perform their duty.

May God protect Jordan and its Hashemite leadership, protect Karak, the fortress of steadfastness and brotherhood, and may God have mercy on our righteous martyrs.
