The Council stated in a statement that this sinful assault does not only target innocent lives, but also targets the security of the homeland, its firm national unity, and disregards all the values of love, tolerance, and peace urged by our tolerant Islamic religion and our heavenly laws.
The statement added that Karak, with its ancient history full of heroism, and its loyal people from various roots and origins, was and will remain a living and unique model of brotherhood and coexistence between Muslims and Christians, and will remain a land of love, dignity, and peace, resilient against all attempts at hateful strife and fleeting division.
The Council affirmed that targeting any component of our Jordanian people is a target for us all, and our national fabric will only become more cohesive and resilient, and our national unity will remain the impenetrable and strongest dam against all attempts to tamper with Jordan's security and stability, under the shadow of the victorious Hashemite banner.
The Karak Chamber of Commerce, represented by its president, Engineer Omar Al-Dmour, its director, all its employees, and the commercial sector in Karak Governorate, denounced with deep sadness, sorrow, and intense anger the painful incident and the sinful assault that took place at the church in the town of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, which resulted in the loss of a number of innocent victims and the injury of others while they were performing a social and religious humanitarian duty.
The Chamber affirmed that this criminal act is completely inconsistent with the principles of our tolerant heavenly religions and clashes with all human values, social norms, and authentic traditions upon which the people of the unified Jordanian society have been raised and molded throughout its long history.
The Chamber pointed out that this brutal assault, which targeted safe people in places of worship, will not undermine our determination and will only increase the people of Karak and all the governorates of the Kingdom, Muslims and Christians, in cohesion and strength; they are one body and one family united by the bonds of blood, neighborhood, and a common destiny on the pure soil of Jordan, and Karak will always remain as it has been, a fortified fortress in the face of strife, honor, and national unity.
The Chamber extended its sincerest condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the victims and their relatives, asking the Almighty God to cover them with His vast mercy, to grant a speedy and full recovery to all the injured and wounded, and to inspire us all with patience and solace.
The Chamber also announced its absolute confidence and constant support for our valiant security services and our armed forces in pursuing the perpetrators and striking with an iron fist anyone who dares to harm the security and stability of this homeland.
