Syria.. Israel shells the vicinity of Mantara Dam in Quneitra with 3 shells

The Israeli army shelled the vicinity of Mantara Dam in the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, with 3 shells on Wednesday, in its latest attack on Syrian territory.

The official Syrian News Channel reported that 'Israeli occupation forces shelled the vicinity of Mantara Dam in the central Quneitra countryside with 3 shells'.

There is no immediate information about casualties, injuries, or damage to the vicinity of the dam due to the shelling.

This development comes after the Israeli army penetrated twice on Tuesday in the countryside of Quneitra province, raising fears of students on their way to school, while its soldiers assaulted shepherds, including minors.

The province of Quneitra, adjacent to the occupied Golan Heights, witnesses frequent Israeli incursions, including house and vehicle searches and the establishment of temporary military checkpoints.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel has expanded its military operations in Syria, advancing its forces to the buffer zone in the Golan and adjacent sites.

Syria demands the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they have advanced to, and affirms its adherence to the disengagement agreement of 1974, while Israel says its movements are related to security considerations.

About a week ago, Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar'a told the UN General Assembly that since the fall of the regime, Israel has carried out about 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions, and about 300 arrests and detentions of Syrians.

Al-Shar'a affirmed his country's commitment to the 1974 troop separation agreement, and called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the lines of December 8, 2024, stressing that 'Golan will remain Syrian land'.
