Israeli Occupation Bombards Agricultural Lands with Artillery Shells in Southern Quneitra, Syria

Israeli forces shelled, on Sunday evening, with 4 artillery shells, agricultural lands between the towns of Bareqah and Kawdnah in the southern countryside of Quneitra province in southern Syria, according to government media.

The Syrian News Channel reported that "Israeli occupation forces are shelling with 4 artillery shells the agricultural lands between the towns of Bareqah and Kawdnah in the southern Quneitra countryside."

The channel did not provide immediate information about casualties or damage due to the shelling, which comes days after similar incidents in the Quneitra countryside.

On Thursday, Israeli forces fired two artillery shells towards the vicinity of Hamidiyah town in the northern Quneitra countryside, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

On September 18, Israeli forces targeted the outskirts of Hamidiyah with several artillery shells.

On September 20, the Quneitra countryside witnessed Israeli shelling with 3 artillery shells on the grove of the village of Bir Ajam in the northern province, and 4 shells on agricultural lands in the southeast of the town of Al-Rafid in the southern countryside, without recording any injuries.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2024, Israel has expanded its control in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, seizing the buffer zone, while its forces carry out incursions, arrests, and shelling in southern Syria.

On Wednesday, Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar'a told the United Nations General Assembly that Israel had carried out about 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions, and about 300 arrests and detentions of Syrians since the fall of the regime.

Al-Shar'a affirmed his country's commitment to the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement and called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the lines of December 8, 2024, emphasizing that "the Golan will remain Syrian land."
