The media spokesperson for Sahab Municipality, Muhammad Dheef Allah Shawbkeh, confirmed that the municipality began its preparations for the rainy season early, according to a field plan based on prioritizing and monitoring the readiness of various sites, noting that the municipality's teams continue cleaning, inspection, and treatment work sequentially.
Shawbkeh said that preparing for the rainy season begins well before the rain falls, by cleaning bridges, manholes, drainage channels, and valleys, and ensuring their readiness and ability to absorb and drain water, and addressing any obstacles that may affect water movement or pose a danger to public safety.
He added that the municipality is simultaneously monitoring the readiness of its staff, vehicles, and emergency equipment, and enhancing the speed of response to observations and emergency cases, stressing that the safety of citizens and the preservation of property and infrastructure are a top priority in the plan to prepare for the rainy season.
Shawbkeh explained that the readiness work is not limited to the pre-season phase, but continues during the rainfall period through field monitoring and responding to observations and addressing any emergencies as needed, ensuring the continuity of the stormwater drainage system and raising the level of response in various weather conditions.
He confirmed that Sahab Municipality will continue its field work until the readiness requirements are completed, with ongoing monitoring and follow-up during the rainy season, enhancing the municipality's ability to deal with weather conditions and raising the level of public safety in various areas of the city.
