Senators: No refuge for those who attempt to tamper with Jordan's security

The senators pointed out that the speed and precision in apprehending the criminals clearly embody the firm royal will, and are a direct and field translation of the assurances of His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his visit to Karak, to pursue the cowards and terrorists and impose the harshest deterrent penalties upon them.

Senator Jamal Al-Saraira said that this brutal and cowardly attack, which targeted the Greek Orthodox Church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, represents a flagrant violation of the sanctity of places of worship and a blatant assault on the most sacred religious and human values and the right to practice rituals in safety.

He added that Jordan, with its historic Hashemite leadership that has always established the foundations of tolerance, the preservation of human dignity, and the protection of sanctities, is resilient against such heinous acts, and these desperate attempts will only increase Jordanians, Muslims and Christians alike, in cohesion and adherence to their firm unity as one body in the face of all obscurantist thought.

Al-Saraira emphasized that the security services and state institutions were, from the first moment this heinous crime occurred, up to the level of responsibility and professionalism, as they worked day and night with tight coordination and high efficiency, until the firm hand of justice reached the perpetrators of this cowardly terrorist act to bring them to fair retribution, noting that this speed and precision in apprehending the criminals clearly embodies the firm royal will, and is a direct and field translation of the assurances of His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his visit to Karak, to pursue the cowards and terrorists and impose the harshest deterrent penalties upon them.

He stressed that Jordan will remain, through the wisdom of its leadership and the awareness of its people, an oasis of security and a unique model of national fraternity, and all attempts to sow division and hatred will shatter against the rock of authentic Jordanian awareness and cohesion.

In turn, Senator Mahmoud Freihat said that the tireless efforts exerted by the security services since the first moment the terrorist crime occurred in Karak Governorate embody the highest levels of professionalism, efficiency, and coordination, which reinforces the confidence of Jordanians in their security services, which continue to perform their national duty with all competence and responsibility.

He indicated that the arrest of the members of the terrorist cell translates the firm royal will to pursue the cowards who target the security and stability of the nation, confirming that Jordan will remain resilient against terrorism and strife, and that the cohesion of Jordanians and their national unity are stronger than all attempts to sow division and hatred and shake confidence in state institutions.

He pointed out that rallying around the Hashemite leadership and the security services constitutes the safety valve for the nation, and that the blood, dignity, and security of Jordanians will remain above all considerations, and no attempts will succeed in undermining the unity of Jordanians or compromising their national constants.

For his part, Senator Fadel Al-Hmoud pointed to the assurances of His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his visit to Karak, regarding the necessity of arresting the terrorists and confronting them with the harshest penalties, stressing that the hand of justice has reached the perpetrators of this heinous terrorist crime, and that there will be no leniency with anyone who attempts to compromise the security of Jordan and the safety of its people.

Senator Al-Hmoud added that the success of the security services in performing their duty and pursuing those involved confirms their vigilance and ability to deal firmly with terrorist threats, praising the efforts of their personnel and their sacrifices for the sake of protecting citizens and safeguarding the security of the Kingdom.

He affirmed that the awareness of Jordanians and their rallying around their Hashemite leadership and their security institutions constitute a fundamental pillar in confronting terrorism and extremism and maintaining the security and stability of the nation.

For his part, Senator Muwaffaq Al-Dmour said, "His Majesty the King gathered his security council, and with all the persistence of men and the determination of heroes, work was done to end this hateful remnant," adding, "The affliction was eased by His Majesty's repeated visits to the injured, and by the comfort he provided to the houses of mourning, despite the pain that grips the hearts. The visit of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and the princesses also had a great impact in providing comfort and strengthening the position."

Al-Dmour extended his thanks to the Armed Forces and the security services for their high professionalism, exceptional efficiency, and high-level field coordination, which consolidates the confidence of Jordanians in their state and their agencies, and reinforces their certainty that "Jordan is strong, guarded by eyes that do not sleep."

In turn, Senator Dr. Salah Adeeb Halsa said, "Our security services have proven once again that they are the shield of the nation and its impregnable fence. From the first moment of the heinous terrorist crime that targeted the Hamoud Church in Karak, their tireless efforts did not stop in pursuing its perpetrators, until they were able to arrest the terrorist cell in a precise operation characterized by professionalism, efficiency, and high coordination, without any of the security force's heroes being harmed."

He added, "Today, the hand of justice has reached these criminals, and we are confident that justice will take its course, and everyone whose responsibility is proven will receive the punishment they deserve according to the provisions of the law," adding, "Our affliction was great, and we lost dear family and children who were close to our hearts, leaving in our souls an indelible sadness, but they are not martyrs of a family or a sect, but martyrs of all of Jordan, and their pure blood is a trust in all our necks."

He continued, "I am a son of Karak, and I know this land, its people, and its history, and I know that Muslims and Christians have lived in it as family and support, brought together by love and stances before geography brings them together. Karak will remain as we have known it, resilient against strife, standing tall with its people, their unity, and their belonging."

He said, "Whoever thought that this crime would sow division among Jordanians does not know Jordan and does not know its people. What happened only increased our cohesion and determination to protect our homeland, and Jordan will remain a model of national cohesion, standing as one rank behind our Hashemite leadership, our Arab Army, and our security services. May God have mercy on our righteous martyrs, heal our wounded, grant their families and relatives patience and solace, and may God protect Jordan and perpetuate upon it the blessing of security and safety."

For his part, Senator Dr. Ghazi Al-Thunaibat said that this operation reflected a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and coordination between the various security services, and confirmed once again that Jordan's security and stability are in safe hands, and that the confidence of Jordanians in their state institutions and security services is a firm confidence, reinforced by stances, achievements, and sacrifices.

He continued, "Here is the Jordanian state proving once again that its promises are actions, that the hand of justice is capable of reaching everyone who attempts to tamper with the security and stability of the nation, that there is no place for terrorism on the land of Jordan, and no escape from accountability and punishment according to the provisions of the law."

For her part, Senator Nasima Al-Fakhri said that the arrest of the members of the terrorist cell linked to the crime witnessed by Karak Governorate embodies the high vigilance and professionalism enjoyed by the Jordanian security services and reflects their continuous efforts since the first moment the crime occurred and the efficiency, coordination, and integration they showed in performing their national duty.
