Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs, Abdullah Tawfiq Kanaan, affirmed that Jordan will remain, through the wisdom of its Hashemite leadership, the awareness of its authentic people, and the vigilance of its security agencies, an impenetrable fortress against all attempts to tamper with its security and stability, and to confront criminals with suspicious agendas and extremist ideas.
Kanaan said in a statement on Tuesday that the efforts of the brave men of the security agencies across their various ranks and units wove, at dawn today, as usual, a bright national dawn with the light of truth and will, embodying the approach of the Hashemite leadership in preserving the security of the homeland and the nation, despite the days of grief and anger experienced by the sons of the dear homeland, with its various components and cohesive national fabric, following the cowardly terrorist attack on the church in the village of Al-Hammoud in Karak Governorate, as a result of which Jordan lost an elite of the homeland's finest youth and men.
He added that Jordan will remain in confrontation with criminals possessing suspicious agendas and extremist ideas, which everyone realizes serve only the enemies of the homeland, the nation, and humanity, amidst plots threatening the entire nation and region, which requires everyone to unite, solidarity, close ranks, and reject everything that stirs division and sectarianism planted by colonialism in the entire nation.
He pointed out that these plots shattered against the rock of awareness, culture, and firm national identity, emphasizing that Jordan, which offered martyrs from Muslims and Christians on the soil of Palestine and Jerusalem, continues to support the steadfastness of its people there, stemming from historical Jordanian sacrifices and embodying the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Kanaan noted that the clear message embodied by the heroism of the members of the security agencies and the Arab Army, at dawn today and every day, on the soil of the dear homeland and along its borders, amidst this inflamed and war-torn region, affirms that the sons and grandsons of the martyrs and strugglers on the soil of Palestine and Jerusalem keep the homeland and the nation before their eyes.
He stressed that Jordan's strength and the cohesion of its social fabric constitute a force that enhances the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their rights, and supports the unity of the nation and its ability to face the challenges and crises buffeting it.
He said that the Committee looks with pride and honor upon the Hashemite leadership, the security agencies, the Arab Army, the Jordanian people, and the responsible national media outlets that recognized their media message under such circumstances, affirming to near and far and to anyone attempting to destabilize security and plant the seeds of sedition that Jordan will forever remain the citadel of Arabism and steadfastness.
He explained that the aware generations will remain the true wealth for developing the homeland and building its edifices in all fields, bearing the responsibility of participating in preserving national security and the achievements built by fathers and grandfathers.
Kanaan extended his deepest condolences and sympathy to all, especially the families of the martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured as a result of this heinous crime.
