The Republic of San Marino, through its honorary consulate in the Kingdom, honored His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Raad, Chief Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, by awarding him the Order of Saint Agatha with the rank of "Commander," in recognition of his distinguished humanitarian career, his pioneering efforts in working with persons with disabilities and military veterans, and his leadership in the efforts that resulted in declaring Jordan mine-free.
In an official ceremony held by the Republic's Honorary Consul to the Kingdom, Samer Kawar, in the presence of HRH Prince Raad bin Zeid, a number of princes and princesses, the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan HRH Prince Mansour bin Khalid Al Saud, and a number of ambassadors and official and leadership figures, Kawar bestowed the medal upon Prince Mired on behalf of the Presidency and Government of the Republic of San Marino.
In his speech, Prince Mired expressed his gratitude to the Presidency and Government of San Marino for this appreciation, which he cherishes and which he, in turn, dedicated to all persons with disabilities, affirming his commitment to continuing his journey in serving them.
His Highness pointed out that there are people with disabilities around the world who still need more efforts to support and empower them, expressing his appreciation and pride in the efforts of his colleagues and everyone working in the public and private sectors with a team spirit to provide comprehensive care for persons with disabilities, safeguard their civil rights, and ensure equal opportunities for them in education, work, political participation, and all other aspects of life, in a way that enhances their effective integration into society, under the support and noble directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II for this group.
Prince Mired also expressed his appreciation to HRH Prince Raad bin Zeid and his late mother, Princess Majda Raad, for their constructive efforts over fifty years in serving noble causes, noting their significant role in guiding him toward the path of public service and expressing his hope to continue the path they established.
His Highness affirmed his aspiration for persons with disabilities to soon enjoy the freedom to live, move, and work in a fully inclusive environment, valuing the support of his life partner, HRH Princess Dina Mired, and his children and family for his efforts.
The Prince renewed his thanks to his colleagues at the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers, the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation, and the Royal Academy for Inclusive Education for their efforts in serving these causes.
For his part, Kawar emphasized that the medal comes in recognition of His Highness's distinguished career in serving humanity, his support for persons with disabilities, military veterans, mine victims, and those affected by conflicts, and his pioneering efforts in strengthening global action to combat landmines and stand by their victims, as well as his contributions to international cooperation.
He expressed the Republic of San Marino's appreciation for Jordan's role, led by His Majesty the King, in serving regional issues and the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He stressed that these values are in line with the position of the Republic of San Marino in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and its belief that a just peace is the only way to build a better future for the peoples of the region.
The Order of Saint Agatha with the rank of "Commander" is one of the high official decorations in the Republic of San Marino and was awarded to Prince Mired in recognition of his humanitarian efforts.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Kawar extended his congratulations and blessings to Prince Mired, expressing his hope that the medal would remain a symbol of appreciation and gratitude, and an embodiment of the deep-rooted brotherhood and friendship between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of San Marino.
