Riyadh Airport announces the resumption of flights today after two weeks of closure

The management of King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, announced the resumption of operations in Terminals 1 and 2, effective today, Sunday.

According to the statement issued by the airport management, it was decided to designate Terminal 1 to receive and service domestic flights, while Terminal 2 will be designated for operating international flights for national carriers operating at the airport.

This new distribution aims to reduce congestion and improve the passenger experience through this vital aviation facility.

Operational activities at the airport had witnessed a suspension and an extension of the closure by a decision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation during the current month of October.

The Authority explained at the time that this measure was necessary to complete safety verification procedures for all facilities and ensure their technical readiness.

Coordination was carried out with various competent authorities to ensure a safe return of flight operations after confirming that the risks had been eliminated.

This morning, the Saudi-led military coalition announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Riyadh.
