Re-election of Amman Stock Exchange as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Capital Markets Union AFCM

The Amman Stock Exchange participated in the annual conference of the Arab Capital Markets Union – Abu Dhabi 2026, which was held in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi on September 29 and 30, 2026, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Securities Market, with the participation of a wide range of leaders of Arab stock exchanges, regulatory authorities, clearing, depository, and settlement institutions, brokerage firms, asset managers, and investors, along with a group of experts and decision-makers from regional and international markets.

The conference provided a platform for exchanging experiences and insights, learning about the latest developments in the capital markets industry, and discussing modern trends in financial markets at both regional and international levels, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation and integration between Arab markets and keeping pace with the transformations in the financial sector.

The meeting witnessed the re-election of the Amman Stock Exchange as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Capital Markets Union, which represents the highest authority in the Union, alongside the Egyptian Stock Exchange, the Iraq Stock Exchange, the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), the Bahrain Stock Exchange, the Tunis Stock Exchange, Egypt Clearing, Depositary, and Registration Company, and the Saudi Clearing Company.

The Executive Director of the Exchange, Mazen Al-Wazahifi, said that the re-election of the Exchange as a member of the Union's Board of Directors, which is the highest authority in it, indicates the members' appreciation for Jordan and the significant role played by the Amman Stock Exchange in the Union over the past years and its active participation in its work and committees.

He added that this comes in light of the development and modernization of the national capital market's frameworks and legislative and technical infrastructure, within a strategic plan aimed at enhancing the capital market and improving the investment climate in it, in accordance with the latest international standards and practices.

The conference included eight discussion sessions, addressing a number of vital topics, most notably exchange-traded funds and dual listing, market making and liquidity provision, derivatives markets, accelerating settlement cycles and modern clearing models, mutual fund structuring, the evolution of the brokerage sector, and the impact of artificial intelligence assessments on the markets.

It should be noted that the Amman Stock Exchange received the Arab Capital Markets Union Annual Award for 2025 as the best performing Arab stock exchange in terms of price index growth, during the conference's activities, in recognition of its performance during the year 2025.

It is worth mentioning that the Arab Capital Markets Union includes 18 Arab stock exchanges, 7 clearing companies, and a number of financial institutions from brokerage firms, asset management companies, research centers, listed companies, and investment funds across the Arab region (Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Levant, and African Arab countries). The Union was established to contribute to the development of regulations, enhance coordinated and proactive legislation, exchange views, and provide opportunities for cooperation among members.
