The Administrative Body of the Qalqilya Council highly appreciated the contents of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein's speech before the United Nations General Assembly, and the clear national and pan-Arab positions it conveyed, reflecting Jordan's constants towards the issues of the region, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, and the right of the Palestinian people to freedom, independence, and the establishment of their independent state.
The Council affirmed its support for what His Majesty the King emphasized on the necessity for the international community to abandon the policy of managing conflicts and postponing their solutions, and to assume its responsibilities towards what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank, and to stop violations, displacement, and settlement, and to adhere to international law and international legitimacy, leading to a just and comprehensive peace.
The Council also appreciated His Majesty's affirmation of Jordan's continued support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, support for UNRWA, and the continuation of carrying the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the preservation of their historical and legal status.
It expressed pride in the firm royal stance in protecting Jordan's security, borders, water rights, and the interests of its people, and the affirmation of Jordan's adherence to diplomacy, dialogue, and peace does not in any way mean leniency in its rights or national security.
Qalqilya Council affirmed its full support for the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and its pride in the steadfast Jordanian role in defending the Palestinian cause and the issues of the nation, and working for security, stability, and just peace in the region.
