Public Security announces traffic closures coinciding with the Ayla cycling and running race

The Public Security Directorate announced traffic closures along the route of the Ayla (AYLA DEAD2RED) cycling and running race, organized by the Generations For Peace organization under the supervision of the Jordan Cycling Federation on Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23, covering a distance of approximately 200 kilometers from Ghor Al-Safi to the city of Aqaba.

The Directorate stated that closures will begin partially in both directions from the Arab Potash Company square in Ghor Al-Safi to the Ayla resort, starting from 2:00 PM on Thursday, with a full closure effective from 5:00 PM on the same day.

It added that the road will be reopened gradually starting from 8:00 AM on Friday, depending on the progress of the race and the conclusion of its activities along the route.

The race passes through the areas of Ghor Fifa, Qurayqira, Al-Risha, Rahma, Qatar, Bir Mathkur, and Wadi Araba, reaching the northern entrance of Aqaba, then the Aqaba Authority intersection and the Al-Farooq Street intersection, ending at the entrance to the Ayla resort, with the participation of contestants of various nationalities and both genders.

The Public Security Directorate called on drivers to adhere to the instructions and guidance of its personnel, to cooperate with them, and to use alternative routes when necessary, confirming the readiness of its staff to secure the route, escort the participants, and ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.
