Al-Nawafleh stated that the funding from the two ministries and the continuous support from the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) helped the cooperative establish this project, which is the first of its kind in the Petra District, and is expected to provide about 120 job opportunities for the region's sons and daughters in the first phase.
Al-Nawafleh indicated that the training and factory preparation phase will begin at the start of this week, to be followed by the commencement of operations.
Al-Nawafleh pointed out that the financing programs and the support for the cooperative by the Petra region have contributed to creating several projects affiliated with the Capital of the Nabataeans, such as the previous cleaning project, the revival of Nabataean life, and a café overlooking the mountains of Petra, while a parking project will soon be initiated in cooperation with the Authority. Social activist Khalifa Al-Hilalat believes that these financing programs are very important in strengthening the role of the cooperative and community sector in establishing various projects that contribute to creating job opportunities and a better life for the region's residents.
He noted that the establishment of the first sewing factory in the region would not have seen the light of day without partnership and the existence of financing programs in the relevant ministries, which will contribute to creating an economic and developmental success story worthy of emulation.
Economic activist Jihad Al-Nawafleh considered that financing programs, whether belonging to ministries, government agencies, or international organizations, are a supporting tool for developmental work in the Kingdom's governorates, if utilized through establishing projects with feasibility and vision, such as the sewing factory project in the Petra District.
Al-Nawafleh emphasized that the success of this project will push the cooperative, the cooperative sector, and the community in the district in general to move towards establishing industrial and agricultural projects, because financing programs are an important tool in encouraging those in charge of these sectors to move towards qualitative and entrepreneurial investments.
Young man Mahmoud Al-Hasanat valued this role of financing programs in creating qualitative economic and developmental projects in the governorates, including the Petra District, considering that the establishment of the first sewing factory in the region would open broader economic horizons in the district and contribute to employing dozens of unemployed people.
The financing programs also prompted a large number of the district's residents to establish an agricultural cooperative, which opened its registration doors to members of local communities in Petra, in order to revive the agricultural sector, as it is considered one of the promising sectors that will result in developmental and economic projects and broader job opportunities.
