Two Palestinians, one of them a child, were injured by Israeli army gunfire on Wednesday during an incursion into the city of Jenin in northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams transported a 14-year-old child to the hospital who was shot in the thigh with live ammunition during the incursion into Jenin.
For its part, Palestine TV (governmental) confirmed that the number of injured had risen to two "during clashes (between Palestinians and the army) in Jenin city", noting that both were shot with live ammunition.
It added that the Israeli army fired gas bombs heavily towards Palestinian vehicles at the eastern entrance of the city, coinciding with the incursion.
According to the official Palestinian news agency "WAFA", the army raided the Al-Wad Street in the city, imposed a military cordon around the area, and prevented the movement of vehicles and citizens, and "fired bullets, sound bombs, and gas randomly".
It added that "occupation forces raided a commercial establishment and agricultural land, detained a number of young men present in the area, and interrogated them on the spot".
Since the start of the genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, including killings, arrests, displacement, bulldozing of agricultural lands, demolition of houses, and settlement expansion.
The escalation has led to the killing of 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, the injury of about 13,350, and the arrest of more than 24,600, according to official Palestinian data.
