MPs Emphasize the Importance of Private Hospitals as a Strategic Partner for the Health Sector

The "MPs in the Field" initiative confirmed that private hospitals are a true partner for the public health sector, stressing the necessity of having hospitals within industrial cities to ensure rapid response to emergency cases, in addition to their developmental and social role in providing job opportunities for the region's youth.

This came during a field visit by the initiative to Al-Sakhay Hospital in Al-Hassan Industrial City in Rumtha District, where the initiative's delegation included MPs: Abdul Nasser Al-Khasawneh, Mu'aid Allawona, Abdul Halim Al-Anabneh, accompanied by MPs: Amal Al-Shaqran, Bassem Rawabdeh, and Salem M'adle.

In a statement on behalf of the participating MPs, MP Mu'aid Allawona confirmed that the "MPs in the Field" initiative draws its work and field approach from the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein for the necessity of being among the citizens and field monitoring of services on the ground, pointing out that the presence of Al-Sakhay Hospital is of utmost importance due to the health services and primary and comprehensive medical care it provides to more than 36,000 workers within Al-Hassan Industrial City, in addition to serving the local community.

For his part, MP Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Khasawneh confirmed that the hospital has specialized and high-quality medical devices that are rare at the national level, praising the hospital's possession of modern technologies that enable it to provide advanced health services and deal efficiently and quickly with various cases and emergency crises.

MPs Abdul Halim Al-Anabneh, Amal Al-Shaqran, Bassem Rawabdeh, and Salem M'adle confirmed that private hospitals constitute an important window for providing job opportunities and training for the region's youth, and are considered a main support arm for the public health sector in the governorate to alleviate the burden on official health cadres and centers.

For his part, the hospital's general manager, Bassem Alyan, explained that the hospital faced a number of challenges and difficulties in its early days, but the combined efforts of the administration and the real partnership with the public sector resulted in the hospital gaining a distinguished position in Rumtha District and Irbid Governorate.

The hospital's director, Yousef Al-Thahad, pointed out that the hospital is steadily moving towards continuous development, seeking to provide the best medical services to the region's youth and equipping it with the latest advanced medical equipment and devices, some of which the hospital is unique in providing at the governorate level.

It should be noted that Al-Sakhay Hospital is the only hospital within qualified industrial cities at the national level, with a capacity of 40 beds. The hospital includes a modern and fully equipped emergency department to accommodate about 40 emergency cases, including intensive and intermediate care beds, a maternity ward, and a dialysis unit.

The hospital also houses a specialized department for "Toxicity Treatment" that deals with cases of poisoning and chemical exposure that workers in factories and companies within industrial cities may be exposed to, and it is the only center dedicated to this purpose at the national level.
