The head of the Moaz bin Jabal Municipality Committee, Engineer Mutasem Al-Omari, affirmed that the municipality places at the forefront of its strategic priorities opening new horizons for investment and driving the wheel of comprehensive development in the various regions of the district. He pointed out that these efforts primarily aim to solidify the touristic feature enjoyed by the governorate, in addition to providing job opportunities for the youth in the region to contribute to activating their developmental role and economic participation.
Al-Omari explained that the specialized cadres in the municipality have completed an integrated economic feasibility study to establish a model tourist village in the "Al-Hamma" area, which is unique for its sulfurous water with high therapeutic and healing properties.
He added that the area enjoys wide fame and a prestigious standing on the local and regional tourism map, making it an important destination for thousands of visitors and citizens seeking relaxation and natural therapy from various governorates of the kingdom. He indicated that the establishment of this pioneering project comes within the framework of organizing and developing the area to become a natural and environmental outlet serving the people of the Jordan Valley and its visitors, especially following the decision to close illegal and unlicensed private farms, so that this site becomes the approved destination equipped with all necessary facilities to receive citizens and provide them with the best touristic and therapeutic services.
Within the framework of following up on the investment file, Al-Omari revealed that the municipality has taken serious steps to secure an amount of 50 thousand dinars to carry out comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation works for the "Al-Noor" hall, rented from the Agricultural Credit Corporation, with the aim of re-offering it for investment and achieving a profitable financial return to support the municipality's budget. He pointed out that the municipality addressed the Ministry of Local Administration to submit an official memorandum to the Prime Ministry to obtain a special exception to purchase air conditioners for the hall and equip it with the necessary supplies, so that it becomes ready to host various events and community activities.
Regarding the vegetable market in the Shuna area, Al-Omari indicated that the municipality is currently studying and evaluating a set of investment offers submitted by investors wishing to lease the market and transform it into an integrated commercial center. He explained that the procedures for studying these offers and negotiating them have led to postponing the process of moving vegetable merchants and retail stores to the current market site.
He affirmed, in parallel, the continuation of executive cadres in launching intensive regulatory and field campaigns to remove street vendors and illegal encroachments on sidewalks and roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and organize the markets.
On the level of infrastructure development, Al-Omari announced the allocation of a budget amounting to 500 thousand dinars to implement paving, maintenance, and opening works for serviced roads, noting that an amount of 150 thousand dinars was deducted from this value to complete projects dedicated to rainwater drainage and warding off flood risks. He added that the municipality has also earmarked an amount of 100 thousand dinars for "restoration" works and restoring conditions to normal, as the technical staff is preparing to tender the special bid during the near future, after paving and infrastructure tenders were previously floated.
He emphasized the strategic importance of the region as a fertile touristic and agricultural environment with high potentials, confirming the municipality committee's keenness and continuous endeavor to facilitate all procedures and transactions for investors and various sectors, which positively reflects on improving the level of services provided to citizens and implementing sustainable development projects.
