Minister of Labor Dr. Nidal Katamine discussed with Egyptian Minister of Labor Dr. Hassan El-Raddad, on Sunday on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo, a number of files related to Egyptian labor in Jordan.
Katamine emphasized that the distinguished historical relations between Jordan and Egypt constitute a key guarantee and a solid foundation for preserving the interests of the two countries and brotherly peoples, pointing out the Ministry of Labor's keenness to keep communication channels open to overcome any obstacles that may face Egyptian workers in Jordan, within the framework of governing laws and regulations.
He pointed out that the recent Cabinet decision regarding the regularization and legalizing the status of non-Jordanian workers aims to simplify procedures, alleviate financial burdens on employers, and organize the status of non-Jordanian workers working for them, especially Egyptian workers.
For his part, El-Raddad praised the level of ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two sides, emphasizing the importance of enhancing and deepening partnership in various fields.
He commended the Jordanian Cabinet decision allowing non-Jordanian workers to correct their status, pointing out that Egyptian workers committed to regulations and instructions will directly benefit from the remaining period for implementing this decision.
