Minister of Investment discusses in Brussels expanding partnerships and enhancing participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference

Minister of Investment, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, discussed during a working visit to the Belgian capital, Brussels, ways to expand partnerships and enhance participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, which the Kingdom will host at the Dead Sea on November 19.

The visit included discussions with officials in the European Union and the Belgian government, and a dialogue with private sector representatives to introduce the opportunities available in the Kingdom and expand communication with European decision-makers and business communities.

Abu Ghazaleh met with the European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič, the European Commissioner for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica, the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy and Agriculture David Clarinval, and the Acting Director-General for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf at the European Commission Michael Karnitschnig.

The discussions, in which the Jordanian Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Yousef Bataineh participated, addressed areas of investment cooperation and ways to translate them into projects that achieve mutual interests.

Abu Ghazaleh also participated in a roundtable meeting organized by the Arab-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, during which he discussed with company representatives and the business community opportunities for cooperation and ways for the European private sector to participate in the conference.

Abu Ghazaleh emphasized that Jordan possesses competitive advantages that allow European companies to invest in the Kingdom and expand their businesses toward regional and international markets, benefiting from its strategic location and qualified human resources, paving the way for partnerships that combine European technology with local capabilities.

He indicated that the conference represents a practical platform for moving the Jordanian-European strategic partnership to a new stage of economic cooperation, by bringing together investors, companies, and financing institutions to discuss specific opportunities and push them toward negotiation, financing, and implementation.

He stressed the importance of following up on these opportunities after the conference so that they turn into economically viable projects for investors, support the national economy, provide job opportunities for Jordanians, and contribute to the transfer of technology and expertise.

The visit also included a media meeting for the Minister of Investment and a joint press statement with the European Commissioner for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica, during which the readiness of preparations for the Jordanian-European Investment Conference was confirmed, the invitation to European companies and business communities to participate was renewed, and the opportunities offered and targeted sectors were highlighted, with an aspiration to translate them into investment projects and partnerships.
