Lebanese MP: A joint Arab project is a necessity to protect the region and enhance its stability

Lebanese Member of Parliament, MP Paula Yacoubian, said on Saturday that the Arab region needs, more than ever, a joint Arab project to protect and fortify the region.

During the Future of Media and Communication Forum, Yacoubian added that the vacuum left by Iran in some Arab countries is witnessing a struggle to fill it, noting that any vacuum resulting from a state of Arab weakness will be filled by regional or foreign powers.

She stated that the war has debunked several lies, including that Iran defends holy sites or the Palestinian cause, stressing the need to overcome Arab differences in light of the conditions the region is witnessing.

She pointed out that the control of political money over the media has become a normal matter, noting that some media outlets have become, as she described, a source of livelihood for political entities, and work according to their agendas even if they conflict with the country's interest or reforms within it.
