"Leadership and Innovation" Organizes a Meeting on Filmmaking and the Role of Youth

The Directorate of Leadership and Innovation at the Aqaba Economic Zone Authority, through the Youth Database, and in cooperation with the Royal Film Commission of Jordan – Aqaba Film Center, organized a youth meeting titled «Youth and Cinema.. New Stories from Aqaba», with the participation of a number of youth and decision-makers, with the aim of enhancing dialogue about the film industry, introducing opportunities and programs available in the field of visual and audio content, and the role of youth in telling Aqaba's stories and documenting its identity.
The Director of the Directorate of Leadership and Innovation, Reema Al-Tabaa, emphasized the importance of providing spaces that allow young people to express their ideas and talents, noting that the visual content industry represents an opportunity for young people to tell Aqaba's stories in creative ways that reflect its identity and cultural and community components.
Al-Tabaa announced during the meeting the launch of a competition for producing short videos on social media, supported by the Aqaba Economic Zone Authority, with the aim of encouraging young people to produce content that is inspired by Aqaba's stories and contributes to highlighting the city's experiences, stories, and cultural and community heritage.
The meeting witnessed interactive experiences that simulated the atmosphere of film sets, during which participants learned about the stages of film production, from idea development and production to screening, as well as reviewing the most prominent opportunities and programs available to young people in the field of film and creative content production.
The organization of the meeting is part of the efforts of the Aqaba Economic Zone Authority to empower young people, support creative talents and ideas, strengthen partnerships with specialized institutions, and expand young people's participation in cultural and creative sectors, thereby supporting the leadership and innovation system and opening up new horizons for them in the fields of content and film production.
