The King Abdullah II Fund for Development has begun implementing the theoretical training phase of the seventh cycle of the "Parliamentary Fellowship" project, which aims to empower Jordanian youth and enhance their knowledge and skills in the fields of political and parliamentary work, and to provide them with a deeper understanding of the nature of legislative and oversight work and the mechanisms of parliamentary work, with the participation of 50 young men and women.
The Director General of the Fund, Samer Muflaih, emphasized during his meeting with the participants the importance of the project in investing in youth and developing their capabilities, in line with the political modernization process, noting that the combination of theoretical and practical training provides participants with an integrated experience that helps them develop their knowledge and skills and prepare for active participation in public and political life.
The theoretical training, which lasts for two months, includes a range of specialized topics in political and parliamentary work, including effective communication and networking skills, preparation of position papers, political and digital media, political and parliamentary work, legal and legislative drafting, as well as training in political and legal research methodologies and artificial intelligence tools.
Following the theoretical training phase, there will be field training within the Council of Nations in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, during the ordinary session of the House of Representatives, allowing participants to get to know the parliamentary work environment closely, follow legislative and oversight mechanisms, and apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during the theoretical phase.
Since the launch of the "Parliamentary Fellowship" in 2019, the project has continued to provide young people with the opportunity to get to know parliamentary work closely and acquire the experience and skills that enhance their ability to understand the roles of legislative institutions and participate effectively in public and political life, benefiting 460 young men and women, and providing them with the opportunity to gain practical experience that contributes to enhancing their participation in public and political life.
